Key takeaways

  • Match describes a free option and paid packages; your available offer and price can vary.
  • A U.S. App Store listing showed $44.99 one-month items and a $129.99 six-month bundle on November 1, 2026.
  • A monthly equivalent, the amount due now and the renewal charge are separate things to check.
  • Cancel through the place you subscribed and check add-ons and free-trial terms separately.

Match.com has a free option and paid subscriptions, but there is no single public price that applies to every account. On November 1, 2026, the U.S. Apple App Store listed one-month Basic and Standard items at $44.99 each and a six-month Bundle at $129.99. These are dated public listing examples, not a verified checkout quote or a guarantee that those items will be offered to you.

Match's own help page describes paid packages of one, three, six or twelve months, with availability varying by location. Before paying, check the total charge, payment schedule, features and renewal terms in your own offer. We reviewed public sources; we did not create a Match account, purchase a plan or independently test its features.

Match.com price examples: what the U.S. App Store listed

The U.S. Apple App Store listing for Match showed the following in-app purchase labels on November 1, 2026:

Apple listing labelListed amountWhat the number tells you
1 Month Basic$44.99A listed one-month item; its exact features and availability are not established by the label alone.
1 Month Standard$44.99A separately named one-month item at the same displayed price.
6 Month Bundle$129.99A listed six-month item; dividing the total by six gives about $21.67 per month.

The six-month monthly figure is arithmetic on the listed total, not proof that six separate monthly payments will be offered. The listing does not establish that these products have identical features, that the bundle is available to you, or that the same prices apply on Match's website or Android. Taxes, promotions, current availability and renewal terms may differ. Confirm the actual offer before buying.

There is also a naming difference: Match's current help page describes Bronze, Silver, Platinum and Diamond tiers. Apple's public list uses Basic, Standard and Bundle for the examples above. Do not assume that an Apple label is the same product as a particular Match tier without checking the details in your offer.

Is Match.com free? What changes when you pay?

Match's subscription guide says free members can explore curated profiles, rate up to 50 profiles a day in the Recommended stack and chat with every mutual match. That does not establish that every message to an unmatched person is free. The company says offers may vary by location, and we have not tested a free account.

The same guide describes these paid tiers. This is a summary of Match's published feature list, not a promise that every tier or term will appear in your account:

Tier named by MatchExamples of features Match lists
BronzeUnlimited profile ratings in Discover, unlimited likes and unlimited rewinds.
SilverBronze features plus seeing who likes you.
PlatinumLower-tier features plus unlimited introductions, advanced preference filters, message read receipts and a monthly Boost.
DiamondLower-tier features plus a dating-intent filter and additional visibility features.

Check the current wording and the specific feature you want before upgrading. A filter, additional likes or a Boost may change what the service lets you do; it does not guarantee a response, a suitable match or a relationship.

For example, if your main goal is to chat after a mutual match, Match's documented free option may be enough for that limited task. If filtering by dating intent matters to you, the company lists that feature under Diamond; compare its actual price and availability with your budget. A higher tier is not automatically better for every reader.

Is the monthly price the amount you pay today?

Not necessarily. Match's billing explanation says a monthly rate can be a way to display the cost of a multi-month package, with the full term charged at the start. Its package page likewise says the term is charged in full at purchase.

A separate Match payment-options page describes a buy-now-pay-later option with four payments: the first at purchase and the remaining three every two weeks. Those pages do not establish that this option is available for every plan, account or purchase channel. Look at the actual schedule and total rather than assuming either full upfront billing or installments.

Use three separate lines when you compare an offer:

  1. Initial commitment: What is the total for the whole term, including any taxes or fees shown?
  2. Payment schedule: How much is due now, and are there later installments?
  3. Renewal: When will it renew, for how long and at what price, unless you cancel?

Consider the two different Apple listing examples above. The six-month Bundle's $21.67 monthly equivalent is lower than $44.99, but its listed total of $129.99 is higher than the listed price of either one-month item. Someone who wants to use the service for only a month may prefer to investigate a one-month offer; someone comfortable with six months may value a longer term. Because the listed products' features are not established as identical, this is not a like-for-like plan comparison or a prediction of your checkout.

Renewal, cancellation and optional extras

Match says its subscription packages include automatic renewal. Read the renewal date, term and price in your own offer; do not assume a promotional first-term price will also be the renewal price. The company's cancellation guide distinguishes stopping a subscription's renewal from canceling individual add-ons or canceling an account.

If you subscribed directly through Match, its guide points to Manage Subscription in account settings. If you subscribed through Apple, Match says Apple manages the billing and directs users to their App Store subscriptions. For any other purchase channel, check the instructions and terms for that purchase. Keep the confirmation and verify the resulting renewal status; deleting an app alone is not a reliable way to confirm a subscription has stopped.

Optional features can have their own charges or renewal settings. Ask whether an add-on is included in your plan, what it costs and whether it needs to be canceled separately. Turning off future renewal does not automatically establish a refund or erase any payment obligation already agreed to; consult the applicable offer and provider if you have a question about a charge.

Does Match offer a free trial?

Match says it sometimes sends free-trial promotions to free members; it does not promise that every person will receive an offer. Its free-trial guidance says redeeming an offer involves choosing a paid subscription and providing payment information, and the subscription continues after the trial unless it is canceled in time.

Check the trial length, what happens afterward, the charge, the deadline and where to cancel. Match's cancellation page says canceling its free trial immediately ends trial access; check the terms for your own offer and channel. A free account is not the same thing as a temporary paid-feature trial.

Is paying for Match worth it?

Start with the thing you would use, not the number of tier names. If free mutual-match chat meets your needs and the local experience works for you, paying may not solve a specific problem. If a documented paid filter or other feature matters, compare the full commitment with what you can comfortably spend and how long you expect to use it.

Your experience will also depend on who is available within your preferences and how you want to communicate. Neither a subscription nor a profile label guarantees compatibility. Our guide to whether dating apps are worth it can help you consider time and boundaries as well as money. For other services, compare dating apps for serious relationships or read our separate eHarmony cost guide; its prices and terms should not be assumed to apply to Match.

Finally, a paid account does not verify every person you meet. The FTC advises against sending money or gifts to someone you have met only online. Keep payment details private, use the app's blocking and reporting tools when appropriate, and choose a public place for an initial meeting if you decide to meet.
